Wild Birds Make Good Bird Dogs!

Tim and I made a trip up north along the South Platte River to air some dogs and enjoy a beautiful Colorado Sunday! Birds were a bonus...as we found 3 decent coveys of quail and 2 pheasants and saw some white-tails and a coyote. It was a great day, and a blast watching the dogs enjoying life. As I've said many times...wild birds make bird dogs!

If Tim has Elhew pointers he must be a great guy! He's lucky to have found you.

Looks like a ton of fun, Shawn! Do bobwhites pair up later than most other birds? I'm kinda surprised you are still finding coveys but I don't know much about Mr. Bob's habits either.

Kim...

Bobwhites will pair up just like other covey birds, but it's been dang cold the past few days...and they were still in coveys! It was a great day!

Thanks Dale.......

Had a great time and Shawn was a great find in a friend.

I know that Grayling area all to well. Spent a tremendous amount of my childhood in Grayling as I had 2 sets of Grandparents with places up there. A few years back we really had some nice dog work in the Pigeon just a little north of you there.

I am going to get Shawn up to the Western U.P. as a soon as I can.

Had a blast the other day for sure!
